Steven Cooper & Associates, P.C.

I arrived in the Virgin Islands over 5 years ago with the intention of semi-retirement from 30 years of a strenuous but productive career in public accounting. The dilemma I faced was whether to build upon my state-side practice or to join a Virgin Islands CPA firm. I joined the firm of Bronstein Gillette & Associates and incorporated my practice into that firm. My partner, Paul Gillette was instrumental in that decision. Paul was a dedicated professional and I enjoyed my association with him. Unfortunately, my dreams of semi-retirement rapidly faded as the demands of the firm took more and more of my time. His untimely passing in 2010 caused a real catharsis in my thinking.

I decided I liked my job. I decided that clients in the Virgin Islands need and should expect quality professional service, regardless of the laid-back island attitude and the unspoken acceptance that such service should not be expected. I decided a completely new approach to providing services should be developed and, therefore, I decided to start anew with a new firm.

It has been a very difficult and challenging past year, but we are well on our way to making Steven Cooper & Associates, P.C. the premier CPA firm in the USVI. I have expended an enormous amount of energy to make this happen. I have often scratched my head at the absurd and shaken my head at the unreasonable. However, my Midwestern work ethic propels me to continue to roll up my sleeves and work hard. Thankfully, I can finally say, "It's going to happen! Just watch us!"

But I certainly didn't do it alone. My many friends and key members of my staff offered their unwavering support and loyality. Thank you ever so much.
